Across the fields we go.

Beautifully scented buttonholes of Lavender,
rosemary & lisianthus

This bouquet was all about the scent.

I was watering the plants in the shop this morning & was getting wafts of lavender and geranium and realised how scent is so evocative. This wedding was certainly all about scent...

Setting the Marquee up was fabulous as the table-centres were planted buckets of French & English lavender, put that with some very gorgeous and blousey peonies and elegant sweet-peas and I was in heaven.

I'll let you into a secret....
We walked across the field from our Shop to set this wedding up!
It was at Hartley Farm-shop.....

Flowers we love...

This has got to be a perfect time to post this summery wedding, when the wind is howling outside and there seems to be far too much flooding around. So sit back and enjoy these rather fabulous photos of a truly delicious wedding....

I think these photos pretty much sum up the day, this was ONE of the sunny days in the summer and a truly fabulous one at that. James & Christie got married outside and it was glorious. I remember having a conversation with one of the staff at Homewood about what would happen if the heavens opened.... With a twinkle in his eye he very calmly said "It won't" and how right he was.

Christie had a great eye for detail and had sourced a fabulous selection of bottles and jam-jars for the tables. We used a selection of pale pink sweet avalanche roses, blousey peonies, pale blue scabious and a whole host of other delightful flowers to create that cottage garden effect. With jars nestling on piles of books and birdcages spilling out with flowers on to tables, the effect was gorgeous.

I had to include a picture of the cupcakes cause they were sumptuous  Piled high, they looked like jewels ready to pick. Made by this delightful company, I would highly recommend having a gander at their website.

Many thanks the fabulous Helen Cawte for letting us use these glorious photos.

Much love to you all
xx

Lace has to be a favorite....

I was recently perusing the ever fabulous blog  Love my dress and their coverage of the the White Gallery bridal design show and I came across a designer who I think almost took my breath away! Johanna Hehir is the designer and Annabel is the dress!

I just love the simplicity of it with it's all over lace design and the demure neckline! I think it screams French chateau and an armful of peonies!!

This tumbling shower bouquet was an absolute pleasure to create with the soft pale pinks, fresh lavender and herbs cut from the garden (how 'Good Life' are we!) I thought this dress and bouquet really go hand in hand down the aisle. I couldn't really put a more fabulous bouquet together with a stunning dress!

If a bride bought these three pictures to me as a mood board I would know exactly what to create! Luxury in the simplest form with an elegant smattering of champagne to enjoy!

Think about how you want your day to feel to your guests.....

A Chelsea week...

Monday

Day off and a marvellous start to the week!

Tuesday ~ was all about Chelsea Flower Show and Oh my gosh do you not want one of these in your back garden! Chelsea never ceases to inspire me, I especially love the artisan gardens and this was one of the best! Inspired by the 'Far from the madding crowd' by Thomas Hardy, this scaled down Shepherds hut was designed as a writer's retreat! (all I am thinking is fabulous little summer retreat for me at the bottom of the garden :@)

Wednesday

This was another favourite and I would dearly love to recreate it! Designed by Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart, this window box was part of her artisan retreat at Chelsea!! I loved it!!

If you are getting married feel free to phone and ask for us to make window boxes like this for your great day!!

Thursday
I ended up doing an emergency run out for cellophane and delightful old me couldn't resist the jubilee inspired ribbon!! What are you doing this weekend?? Are you beginning to feel patriotic and fabulous? My weekend will involve some pimms, a few weddings and the creation of our Queen out of flowers.....

Don't worry photos will follow I promise!

Friday
Who wouldn't want a bouquet of flowers turning up like this!! Laura and I were positively skipping round the workshop like kids in a sweet shop with all these glorious summer flowers to play with!! Yum yum!!

A rather unusual birthday cake!

Saturday
Another glorious day of sunny weather and it was all about making this cake! This started out as a joke between me and a dear friend of mine whose birthday it was last week!! Seriously, the moral of this days story is be careful what you joke about!!

Sunday

If I was rich and famous I would fill my house with peonies!! I absolutely love it when they start arriving into the workshop, their so elegant, fabulous and ridiculously girly!!

I spent Sunday in the sun with them next to me and a friend to help with a rather delicious bottle of rose and some rather nice cheese!!

Meet Alfie Veal!

Monday

Now who couldn't resist those eyes!! I went to visit some of my lovely friends but really I wanted to meet this little man! Alfie arrived on Sunday all the way from Wales, spent most of his first night howling but on my arrival was flat out asleep on his back in the sun!! (fear not more photos will follow)
