Flowers we love...

This has got to be a perfect time to post this summery wedding, when the wind is howling outside and there seems to be far too much flooding around. So sit back and enjoy these rather fabulous photos of a truly delicious wedding....

I think these photos pretty much sum up the day, this was ONE of the sunny days in the summer and a truly fabulous one at that. James & Christie got married outside and it was glorious. I remember having a conversation with one of the staff at Homewood about what would happen if the heavens opened.... With a twinkle in his eye he very calmly said "It won't" and how right he was.

Christie had a great eye for detail and had sourced a fabulous selection of bottles and jam-jars for the tables. We used a selection of pale pink sweet avalanche roses, blousey peonies, pale blue scabious and a whole host of other delightful flowers to create that cottage garden effect. With jars nestling on piles of books and birdcages spilling out with flowers on to tables, the effect was gorgeous.

I had to include a picture of the cupcakes cause they were sumptuous  Piled high, they looked like jewels ready to pick. Made by this delightful company, I would highly recommend having a gander at their website.

Brides we love....

This is why I'm a florist, so I can fill my house with flowers like this every weekend!
We were both big fans of this wedding, the colours were just yummy!
And I have to say the cake flowers were cute as a button...

Why does my computer make me doubt my spelling capabilities...
Do you say colour or color ~ or can we blame them across the pond (apologies to all Americans reading this)

I have to say purple is quite a luxurious colour, what are your thoughts?

Anyway I'm off sit by the fire by because it's too cold!

Non-stop Autumn....

You can see it's been quite non-stop these days!
Mostly been climbing 10 foot ladders and putting fairy lights in place this weekend, made me feel all twinkly

Busy with weddings still, be glad when it's Christmas.
What have you been up to this week? We got short-listed for the above ~ just a tad pleased.

I've decided team work is the answer to most problems, did I tell I love my job?

Number One

Cottage garden roses clearly are a winner! We started using these fabulous Colombian roses in the summer and I have to say they are an absolute winner! It's so fantastic to have such a gorgeous range of cottage garden roses available to offer our brides and to be able to have them all year round is a bonus indeed!










Number Two

There was a story behind this blog and I'm not surprised it had so many hits! I think it was a phone-call back in late November last year from a very windy Scotland and a lady enquiring about wedding flowers! I never met her until the day but she knew exactly what she wanted and was a delight to deal with. The couple stayed at the gorgeous boutique Halcyon  hotel in Bath so I rolled up on the day and managed to deliver them to her without having a clue what she looked like - and found her all wrapped up in her dressing gown! But she seemed over joyed with the flowers and we had a glowing thank-you note from her after the day! So do enjoy number 2!

Number Three
These reviews of the week are always fun! I think it's a good exercise to go back and see what you can remember of the week that has gone by! We both loved these summery jugs of peonies and roses, unsurprisingly the roses are Colombian!












Number Four

With number four we fly all the way back to March and a rather mad Mother's day weekend. Seems a heck of a long time ago, but lovely to look back.

Number Five

Now the fifth spot is tied between a Claire Pettibone delight and a literal roundabout! You dear reader should decide which is your favourite and let us know!

Been a chilly old week, but I was in Oslo last week and that's even colder!
