A bit of a mish-mash!

I have to say the last month has absolutely flown by, we had an amazing Mother's day weekend, a couple of fabulous weddings, being short-listed for an award and now we seem to be having loads of wedding enquiries for 2013!! It's certainly true that one week is the never the same as the next!

Mother's day bliss!

I loved the variety of people there was ordering flowers over Mother's day weekend, we caught up with brides we had done flowers for, ordering for their Mum's, orders from New-Zealand and Europe (terribly continental!) and  last minute order's being boxed up and sent round the country.

One of the firm favourites of the weekend were these delightful planted arrangements and they weren't just being bought for Mum's. One of our favourite customer's bought one for a dinner party that she was attending, another for a lady who had been unwell!!

This was a rather yummy wedding, the Bride was super-relaxed and very excited to see her bouquet when I arrived at her house. It was a lovely mix of amnesia & cool water roses, lisianthus and avalanche roses with a selection of silvery foliage.

The bridesmaids had these cute bouquets to compliment the Brides! Makes me think of chocolate boxes for some reason....

When I get the time I enjoy nosing through some of the blogs I follow and love the way they list of what they have loved, been looking at and just generally find rather fabulous so in a fit of 'I can do that too'....

Here goes......

Bursting with pride...

Hope you enjoy a something a little bit different from Young Blooms. We couldn't resist showing you this wedding. Hope you enjoy the treat! Bev was a pleasure to work with and it was gorgeous to be able to input into her special day! We had only ever emailed and telephoned about the wedding but she was a delight to work with and I am so pleased to be able to show off her great day here, so enjoy!

The wedding was at 2.30pm on Wednesday 25th January 2012, Burns Day for us Scots and also our 2 year anniversary. It was a small fairly informal occasion with only 7 guests including the bride and groom. We held our ceremony in Guild Hall in Bath followed by a fantastic Italian meal in the very friendly Bottalinos. Our accommodation was second to none at The Halcyon a very good recommendation by yourselves at Young Blooms, so thank you for that.Stunning day wonderful location. Our flowers where amazing and better than I imagined they would be. The whole day was captured elegantly by the wonderful Bath based Marko Dukta! This being second time round for both of us, the day was over all everything we ever dreamed off small and intimate.

A huge thank you to everyone who made our day so special and our memories so magical!

A week that has flown - Part 1

I'll start with last Saturday just cause I want too.

Saturday....
Mostly involved delivering and creating two very different weddings..

.... willing flowers to open and eating VERY delicious fish and chips....

Sunday..
Thankfully the flowers opened and the bouquet was created! Peacock feathers and all!

A flea market was enjoyed though the cute little dog was the best thing there...

Monday.....
Involved cleaning the house so the less said the better...

Tuesday.....
Sharing highlights of Valentines, seriously who wouldn't say no if 50 red roses turned up at the front door. Do check out our facebook page for more delights..

Tuesday was delivering a sweet little spring bucket, which was much admired by the receptionist upon delivery....

But I think I'll save that for part two....
Enjoy your evening, mine is very much about log fires and lemsip! xx

Coral Blaze

I write this blog with heating up full & the log fire going full blaze!

I have been pondering over the weekend the colour coral!! Had a couple of meetings recently where Bridesmaids dresses have been chosen in this rather delicious coral and thought I might expand some ideas on how to work florally with this colour.

Though first I might start with dresses, reading a recent claire pettibone blog, there were some rather stunning slate grey bridesmaids dresses which I think work gorgeously well with the delightful 'Miss Piggy rose' as seen to the right.

I was looking through various websites and stumbled across this dress from bhldn and I think for a Spring wedding a combination of  coral, pale yellow and cerise pink would work an absolute treat and could be the starting point for the rest of the wedding flowers.

See what you think of this combination.....

I think the pale yellow really lifts the whole bouquet and gives it the spring feel, though I do love the clashy pink of the ranunculus!

Just a bit yummy really...

General Excitement....

Just cause they are beautiful
We have both been amazed over the last month how wedding bookings have been flooding in and we are hugely excited in how the business is growing as Brides/Grooms find out about us through the website and word of mouth. We both absolutely love having our business and watching it grow is just a pleasure.

So for the first time in all this business we are trying to be organised and let people know in advance of weekends that are now fully booked.

I'm dreaming of summer days!

So it is as follows:

13th/14th April
11th/12th May
15th/16th June
Thurs 9th and Fri 10th of August are both full but 11th is not.
17th/18th Aug
24th/25th Aug
1st September.

As result of this we would like to thank all who have supported us so far, our customers and fabulous brides and we look forward to the year with huge excitement.

Ps - the photos are mostly for anyone who is experiencing a grey weather day, as its a horribly grey day here and I need a reminder of summer!! xxx

Picked from my garden last summer!
