A Chelsea week...

Monday

Day off and a marvellous start to the week!

Tuesday ~ was all about Chelsea Flower Show and Oh my gosh do you not want one of these in your back garden! Chelsea never ceases to inspire me, I especially love the artisan gardens and this was one of the best! Inspired by the 'Far from the madding crowd' by Thomas Hardy, this scaled down Shepherds hut was designed as a writer's retreat! (all I am thinking is fabulous little summer retreat for me at the bottom of the garden :@)

Wednesday

This was another favourite and I would dearly love to recreate it! Designed by Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart, this window box was part of her artisan retreat at Chelsea!! I loved it!!

If you are getting married feel free to phone and ask for us to make window boxes like this for your great day!!

Thursday
I ended up doing an emergency run out for cellophane and delightful old me couldn't resist the jubilee inspired ribbon!! What are you doing this weekend?? Are you beginning to feel patriotic and fabulous? My weekend will involve some pimms, a few weddings and the creation of our Queen out of flowers.....

Don't worry photos will follow I promise!

Friday
Who wouldn't want a bouquet of flowers turning up like this!! Laura and I were positively skipping round the workshop like kids in a sweet shop with all these glorious summer flowers to play with!! Yum yum!!

A rather unusual birthday cake!

Saturday
Another glorious day of sunny weather and it was all about making this cake! This started out as a joke between me and a dear friend of mine whose birthday it was last week!! Seriously, the moral of this days story is be careful what you joke about!!

Sunday

If I was rich and famous I would fill my house with peonies!! I absolutely love it when they start arriving into the workshop, their so elegant, fabulous and ridiculously girly!!

I spent Sunday in the sun with them next to me and a friend to help with a rather delicious bottle of rose and some rather nice cheese!!

Meet Alfie Veal!

Monday

Now who couldn't resist those eyes!! I went to visit some of my lovely friends but really I wanted to meet this little man! Alfie arrived on Sunday all the way from Wales, spent most of his first night howling but on my arrival was flat out asleep on his back in the sun!! (fear not more photos will follow)

Chelsea delights

I'm so excited as I am off to RHS Chelsea flower show tomorrow.  Apart from the fact we will be finding the pims tent and celebrating my dear friends birthday (it's only right of course) it's seeing so much talent, inspiration and lots of general loveliness in one space. I have been following the Chelsea website over the last couple of weeks as they have been putting lots of videos of gardens being created, designers talking about their visions and ideas and staff generally getting excited, hey even raymond_blanc is waxing lyrical about this years show.

I will report back on all the loveliness seen. xxx

Ps if you can't go and want to see all the action just stick #RHSchelsea into twitter & people are posting loads of stuff on there. You can even follow us and get all the news.

Round and About

OK so I wanted to share this photo I took over Easter on the beach, just a magical moment for a couple ( and I wish it were me marrying at the sea-side)

Here are a few more flowers from the reception ( Leigh Park Hotel , Bradford-On-Avon) from Carolines and Gareth's wedding on the 5th May 2012 ).

Bridesmaids posies ready to go and having a drink!

Pedestal of Hydrangea, ( hurrah its nearly summer) iris, roses, chrysanthemum blooms and purple September. So often churches are quite dark so getting great photos can be tricky but St Nicholas church in Winsley is beautifully bright so allowed me to take this photo in all its glory:)

General excitement!

We are really excited as we have taken the plunge and entered in for the 'Wedding industry awards'. Our fabulous brides have already started voting for us! (aren't they great!)

We would love for more votes so if you have had Young Blooms flowers for your great day between 1st November 2011 and now then vote here.

We always value feedback and really look forward to seeing what happens!!

Much love to all and hope the week is very bright and shiny!!

Focus is a good thing....

Love the spring feel ~ really fresh!
Well, it's been a non-stop bank holiday weekend ~ Laura dashed off for a fabulous weekend of  friends/good food/wine in Daisy (the camper van) and my tales are below! I've poured myself a large glass of that French red I mentioned and am sat at the computer for a breather.

My husband and I realised this week that it was our anniversary this weekend and we had forgotten all about it!! FIVE years and all!! I was slightly gutted when I went to look what the five years was and found wood the answer, leather was last year so I missed out on my mulberry handbag! However I did find a rather lovely pressie on the side ~ but more on that later!

The freesia smelt fabulous!!

So in between Laura and I doing two very different weddings ~ and I don't think you could have gotten much more different (There is photographic evidence of one of them but check out our facebook page for the other one) We went off to the theatre as a treat, saw some terribly modern piece but quite enjoyed it really (at least it made me feel horribly cultured for a small while)

We absolutely loved this colour combination ~ the purple and yellow are really striking and certainly make you stop and look ~ opinion was divided at hartley farm but we thought it was fabulous!! The tables at the reception were graced by these vases! Purple hydrangea hung in the church with organza bows beautifully tied as the Bride walked by!

More photos will follow ~ I promise!

It's been too long....

Love this retro car -  just made me smile!
Time has flown yet again and I have been horribly remiss at writing any blogs at all! Photo's are stacking up on my camera and weddings are all I seem to think about!

There have been some corkers, gorgeous Brides with fabulous flowers. There has been horrendous weather and yet some amazing weddings!

We had a lovely moment this weekend of seeing the Bride stood waiting in the foyer of the hotel to get into a rather stunning Bentley! Such a perfect moment and really wish I could have taken a picture of the very nervous yet stupidly excited Bride who just looked picture perfect. Ho hum.....

Anyway onto pictures cause really, pictures are what we are here for......

I love this shower bouquet! The mix of amnesia and sweet avalanche roses just works fabulously in the Bride's & the Bridesmaids below!

Absolutely love these centre-pieces, the venue was a marquee in the beautiful grounds of Homewood park. The bride had chosen these striking tall arrangements to complement the black and ivory theme and they certainly were a talking point.

A very sweet Bride walked down the aisle with this bouquet, she was very relaxed on the morning of her big day and was a real pleasure to work with. The wedding was all about family, who seemed to be multi-talented and had chipped in with most of the big stuff. Her bouquet was lovely and fresh, lifted by the variegated ivy which almost gave it a summery feel!!

Her father popped in the day after to rave about how well the day had gone and how we love to hear that!!

I leave you hoping that you are enjoying some blue sky/sunshine/not rainy weather as I am off to have a catch and coffee with a lovely friend inside somewhere! xx
